005 Fine Arts Website

I’ve come across a really great website for fine arts.

http://www.wga.hu/index1.html

It contains 29,000 images of paintings and fine arts from 11th to 19th centuries. It is searchable by artist. If you click on “C”, then on “Caravaggio” (on page 2 of the “C’s”), then to the tenth page of the Caravaggio collection (the tenth page is titled “Contarelli Chapel”), then click on the third icon on that page, “The Calling of Matthew”, painted by Caravaggio in 1610 and the original is located in the Contarelli Chapel in San Luigi dei Francesi (Saint Louis of France), which is a church a few blocks (well, 9 blocks) from our apartment. By clicking on the icon, you can view a full screen image of the painting. At the “I” or comment icon, you can get a detailed description of the painting.
